PROMISSES, was started by Latasha Tucker in Richmond, VA in January 2007. 

While preparing her family's home for the arrival of their second child, she came across a number of bridesmaids and other formal gowns.  While they were all very beautiful, she realized that she may not wear them again.  She considered donating the dresses to a charity, but as she thought more about it, she realized that many other women are probably just like her. 

Therefore, she decided to start a non-profit that would provide less fortunate girls with the opportunity to select a dress for their upcoming prom!  This would not only help to clean out some closets, but more importantly, it could be a blessing to the girls and their parents!
